Nicolas Windpassinger

Global Vice President Partner Program
Schneider Electric

With 15+ years of computer networking industry experience, Nicolas Windpassinger is the Global Vice President of Schneider Electric’s EcoXpert™ Partner Program, whose mission is to connect the technologies and expertise of the world’s leading technology providers, pioneer the future of intelligent buildings and the Internet of Things, and deliver smarter, integrated and more efficient services and solutions to customers.

As a result of his work, Schneider Electric’s EcoXpert™ Partner Program has been granted a 5-Star rating in the 2017 Partner Program Guide as well as in the 2018 Partner Program Guide by CRN®, which is part of The Channel Company group. The 5-Star Partner Program Guide rating recognizes an elite subset of companies that offer solution providers the best partnering elements in their channel programs.

Nicolas has been recognized by The Channel Company’s Top Midmarket IT Executives list. This annual list honors influential vendor and solution provider executives who have demonstrated an exceptionally strong commitment to the midmarket:

The Channel Company, has recognized Nicolas as one of 100 People You Don’t Know But Should in the IT channel for 2017.

He has also been named to the 2018 CRN Channel Chiefs List:

As well as one of the 50 Most Influential Channel Chiefs for 2019. Channel Chief honorees are selected by CRN’s editorial staff as a result of their professional achievements, standing in the industry, dedication to the channel partner community, and strategies for driving future growth and innovation. Each of the 2019 Channel Chiefs has demonstrated loyalty and ongoing support for the channel by consistently promoting, defending and executing outstanding partner programs. However, only 50 of those were selected for the Most Influential list, each singled out for his or her prominent role in guiding and shaping the IT channel itself:

In Digitize or Die, Nicolas Windpassinger dissects the digitization phenomenon from technologies to business models, from digital savvy organizations to strategies. The book will review the potential and promise of the IoT, and how to successfully prepare for it all. In so doing, ‘Digitize or Die’ opens a world of possibilities and enables you to dominate your marketplace.

He holds a Telecommunications Engineering degree from the French engineering school, INSA, ranked 1st among World Universities in Engineering/Technology and Computer Sciences (2015 Shanghai Academic Ranking) and has also completed computer science courses at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

With a complete understanding of the IoT value chain, Nicolas has held multiple positions across a broad range of companies including a start-up company starting in the early 21st century, ToutOPhone; telecommunications giant, Nortel Networks-Avaya; and a leading IT system integrator, Spie.

Nicolas has lived in multiple countries including Australia, Singapore, Switzerland, United States of America and France.

Nicolas is passionate about technology and people:

“If someone asked me what I feared most, I would say routine, for the trouble it causes. If someone asked me what I want, I would answer, just two things: to discover and to act. After all, what’s more exciting than discovering ideas, people and the things around us?”
