Nicolas Windpassinger
Global Vice President Partner Program
Schneider Electric
With 20+ years of experience driving growth through strategic marketing, partnerships, channel development, and digital transformation, Nicolas Windpassinger is a senior executive at Schneider Electric, where he has held multiple Vice President roles across global channel sales, digital marketing, and business strategy.
As Global Vice President of the EcoXpert™ Partner Program (2016–2020), Nicolas rebuilt and relaunched the program across all Schneider Electric divisions, growing the partner ecosystem from 2,436 to over 4,579 certified partners, and scaling channel revenue from €216M to over €332M in just three years. Under his leadership, the EcoXpert™ Partner Program was awarded the CRN® 5-Star Partner Program rating three consecutive years running (2017, 2018, 2019) — a distinction recognizing programs that offer solution providers the best partnering elements in the industry.
Since then, Nicolas has served as VP of End-to-End Digital Customer Engagement, leading Schneider Electric’s digital sales and marketing across 75 countries, and as VP of New Residential Offer Design & Launch and Strategy VP for the Prosumer Europe International China Hub, supporting joint ventures, commercial due diligence, and board-level strategic reviews.
Nicolas has been recognized by The Channel Company on multiple occasions:
- Top Midmarket IT Executives — honoring executives with an exceptionally strong commitment to the midmarket
- 100 People You Don’t Know But Should — IT channel recognition (2017)
- CRN Channel Chiefs (2018) and 50 Most Influential Channel Chiefs (2019) — singled out for his prominent role in guiding and shaping the IT channel
In Digitize or Die, Nicolas dissects the digitization phenomenon — from technologies to business models, from digital-savvy organizations to strategies. The book explores the potential and promise of IoT, and how to successfully prepare for it. Endorsed by Schneider Electric Chairman & CEO Jean-Pascal Tricoire, and published via Springer/Amazon, Digitize or Die opens a world of possibilities and enables organizations to dominate their marketplace.
Nicolas holds a Telecommunications Engineering diploma from INSA Lyon and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). He is also certified in Alliance Management (CA-AM) and has completed executive programs at INSEAD.
His career spans a broad range of roles across sectors: Mobile Business Architect at ToutOPhone (startup), Web Application Architect at Sun Microsystems, Territory Channel & Account Manager at Avaya–Nortel Networks, and Branch Manager at Spie Communications — where he tripled revenue in two years and led a team of 35 across five locations.
Nicolas has lived in Singapore, Sydney, Zürich, the United States, and France.
Nicolas is passionate about technology and people:
“If someone asked me what I feared most, I would say routine, for the trouble it causes. If someone asked me what I want, I would answer, just two things: to discover and to act. After all, what’s more exciting than discovering ideas, people and the things around us?”
